Grand Forks, N.D., Chamber Supports Later Bar Closing Time; Council Opposes.

Dec. 4--The East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce is supporting city bar owners in their push to get permission to stay open until 2 a.m.

The City Council has not been supportive. When bar owners asked permission in August, council members squashed the idea 5-1.

The chamber is entering the fray because some of its members say it should, president Diane Blair said. She said the chamber wouldn't approach the council until at least mid-January.
