Award-Winning Shepard Broad Law Center Utilizes

RangeLAN2(TM) to Enhance Learning, Teaching Processes for

Naturally Mobile Student Population

Enhancing the teaching processes and educational experiences by delivering the most advanced learning tools to each student for interactive, real-time instruction through wireless networking, Proxim, Inc., (Nasdaq:PROX), and NOVA Southeastern University (NSU) of Davie, Fla., today at the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC) '99 announce an ongoing partnership to enable the NSU Shepard Broad Law Center's wireless laptop program for more than 700 students.

NSU plans to grow the program this Fall to the more than 1,000 total students enrolled. This leading wireless education technology is being demonstrated at the show March 18-20 in Proxim's booth No. 1503.

Proxim is the world's leading supplier of spread spectrum wireless local area networking (LAN) products to both OEMs and wireless solutions providers with its RangeLAN2(TM) product family and RangeLAN802(TM) IEEE 802.11-compatible product line. The Shepard Broad Law Center is a leading school of law, and was recently named the nation's "Most Wired School" out of 180 queried programs by the National Jurist Magazine for its wireless networking capability.

Now Shepard Broad Law Center students participate in interactive discussion group learning projects, can turn in their assignments and can take their exams on-line, check e-mail and assignments from outside the classroom, and can even join classmates for study groups without leaving their dorm rooms. Professors can post questions or problems about a case the courts just decided for students' comments, or can give them a scenario to work out individually or as a team.

"Having a wireless campus is critical for furthering the advancement of our students by delivering to them the advantages of the most advanced technology for learning available today," said Billie Jo Kaufman, Law Library director and assistant professor of law.

"The Proxim wireless technology enables us to create seamless, real-time programs to best prepare our students for a life in the courtroom, and we are proud to receive national recognition for being on the forefront and using it as an advantage for the students."
