Jul. 17--CEOS, BEWARE OF YOUR 'PEERS': It's open season on chief executives.

Guilty verdicts handed this week to former Westar Energy CEO David Wittig were a perfect example. People -- ordinary people -- are fed up with the excesses and abuses (illegal and immoral) of business leaders.

When everyday folk get a chance in the courtroom, they're expressing that displeasure. Some legal minds thought that prosecutors had a dicey bank fraud case against Wittig to begin
