Cuba deserves respect, says Barbados PM.

Cuba should be respected and left to follow its own path without foreign interference, said Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur, in a meeting with his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper, reports ACN (July 21,2007). The vision of the world towards Cuba has to be based on principles of "respect

for the people's sovereignty, and non-interference, and the nations' right to pursue alternative paths to their development," said Arthur. Referring to the US policy towards Cuba, Arthur, who is also the Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), insisted that Cuba should be involved in all regional affairs.
