Jul. 18--Gov. Sonny Perdue will convene a summit of 900 teachers, parents and school administrators next week in Perry to begin formulating new policies on issues from classroom discipline to teacher accountability.
"This is an opportunity to bring educators together to talk about some pretty serious issues," Perdue said Thursday. "Our policy people will be there to listen, sift and distill what they say into some policies that, hopefully, will be effective."
