Orlando, Fla., Businessman Wants to Lease Closed Theme Park from State.

May 6--LAKELAND, Fla.--An Orlando businessman who pumped new life into River Ranch and Grenelefe Golf Resort has submitted an offer to Gov. Jeb Bush to lease Cypress Gardens from the state and reopen it, returning the attraction to "its former days of glory."

David A. Siegel, president and chairman of Central Florida Investments Inc. and Westgate Resorts, hopes to rehire employees and get the park up and running, according to a prepared statement.
