Florida Hospitals Say Bill Would Give Uninsured Patients A Break.

Jan. 29--Hospital patients without health insurance would get a break on their emergency-room and baby-delivery bills under legislation proposed Wednesday by the state's hospitals and endorsed by Gov. Jeb Bush.

But a consumers group immediately blasted the plan as a thinly veiled attempt by the industry to justify in a state law the chronic price-gouging of the uninsured.
