Dec. 31--PHOENIX--The state's three universities have asked Gov. Janet Napolitano to seek $129 million more next year for increased spending.
The University of Arizona wants nearly $64 million more than its current budget, President Peter Likins said Tuesday. The Legislature approved almost $264 million in general-fund money for the UA this year.
The additional money would go to a variety of needs, including fixing buildings and educating more students.
