Toxic ships give UK a wide berth.(Ship dismantling)(Brief article)

US government plans to have former US Navy ships containing large amounts of hazardous chemicals dismantled in the UK will not now go ahead. The ships were to be dismantled by Able UK at its Teesside Environmental Reclamation and Recycling Centre. But because Able was unable to obtain permits for the dismantling, the deal originally blocked by US environmental groups has itself been scrapped by the US Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD
