April 1960: You might conclude that the U.S. Navy is thinking about almost everything but floating vessels (the meaning of "navy") after sitting through the A.I.M,E. Metallurgical Society's day-long meeting on "Metallurgy in the Navy." Their worries apparently are hulls for deep-diving submarines, construction of ballistic missiles, and detection of underwater and distant objects.
