RADM Bernard S. Browning, SC, USNR (Ret.), 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, of pancreatic cancer. During 28 years of active and Reserve duty, he rose through the ranks and in 1972 was promoted to Rear Admiral, becoming the second youngest Reserve officer selected for that rank in the history of the Navy Supply Corps.

During World War II, Browning served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters and later helped reorganize the Navy Exchange Re-sale System. Browning is survived by his wife of 49 years, Adeline Townsend Rogers, his four children, and four grandc
