Virgin Direct takes another [pounds sterling]13m hit.

ELITE American troops had to fight their way to safety after a raid on the Taliban leader Mullah Omar's complex last month, tomorrow's New Yorker magazine is expected to reveal.

A report by Seymour Hersh is expected to claim that 12 elite troops from the US Delta Force were wounded, three seriously, during the raid on the morning of 20 October.

Hersh will say Delta Force found little of any value inside the complex, but that the troops were ambushed on their way out by Taliban fighters carrying light arms and rocket-propelled grenade launchers or mortars. <
