OSHKOSH, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 1995--Oshkosh Truck Corporation (NASDAQ-OTRKB) announced today that the U.S. Army has exercised options for additional vehicles on an existing contract for Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks (HEMTTs). The option exercise is for an additional 55 vehicles

and is valued at $10 million. It will extend production under the contract through October 1995. Twenty of the 55 vehicles will be equipped with two 150kw generator sets for use as a power source for the Patriot missile system. With this option exercise, the Army will have purchased a total of 300 vehicles on the contract for a total of $61 million. There are potential options of 84 vehicles remaining on the contract.

The company has produced approximately 14,000 of the eight- wheel-drive, ten ton capacity HEMTTs which are considered the backbone of the U.S. Army's heavy duty truck fleet. This contract is one of several military programs in place at Oshkosh Truck.
