WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 18, 1999--Litton Industries Inc. (NYSE:LIT) Thursday announced that its board of directors has elected Harry Halamandaris as executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO).
In this capacity, Halamandaris will provide overall direction

Halamandaris' most recent position was corporate senior vice president and group executive for Litton's Electronic Warfare Group and strategic business development. He was elected a Litton senior vice president in 1996.
Halamandaris joined Litton in 1995 from Kaiser Aerospace & Electronics Inc., Van Nuys, Calif., where he was a corporate vice president and group executive.
Before joining Kaiser, Halamandaris was with Teledyne Inc., Los Angeles, for more than 20 years, including positions as president of Teledyne Systems Co., Northridge, Calif., and director of technology for Teledyne Inc.
A native of Utah, Halamandaris graduated from Utah State University, Logan, in 1960 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering the following year and a master's degree in electrical engineering in 1963.
Halamandaris served in the U.S. Department of State Defense Trade Advisory Group for two years and led the Los Angeles chapter of the American Electronics Association as its chairman in 1987. He was a member of the national board of directors of that association in 1986 and 1987.
Litton is a leader in worldwide technology markets for advanced electronic, defense and information systems, and is a major designer and builder of surface combatant ships for the U.S. Navy and allied nations.
