SKOKIE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 2002
Forsythe Solutions Group Inc., a national provider of technology infrastructure services, announced that it has launched a technical education program for IT professionals responsible for security decision-making and implementation. As a newly authorized training partner for Check Point and Nokia, Forsythe will offer product-specific courses that focus on industry leading products such as Check Point Software's flagship VPN-1/Firewall-1 and Nokia's high availability platforms. In addition, Forsythe has developed security strategy courses that address strategic security issues. Current courses include "Hacks, Attacks and Security Strategies" and "Introduction to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Cryptography." All courses are taught by Forsythe instructors, who are experienced instructors and who have extensive hands-on expertise in designing and implementing security solutions.
"Our courses are designed to give everyone, from policy makers to implementers, the knowledge and the tools needed to establish and implement a solid security policy," explains David Nolan, Forsythe vice president of Consulting Services. "As companies rely on more network and Internet technology, people never charged with security before are now responsible for it -- CXO's as well as IT managers. IT security threats exist for all organizations -- even those that can't afford to hire dedicated experts. Training enables organizations to bring the necessary skill sets in-house, quickly and affordably."
"The more technology makes possible, the more there is that needs to be protected," comments Ron Hale, Forsythe director of Security Services. "You can make all your systems one-hundred percent secure in three seconds: simply disconnect all traffic. Of course, you can't do business that way. It's a risk management issue -- a strategic matter of balance and trade-off, and it affects everything. Which is why our security solutions and our courses focus on real-world cross-platform, multi-vendor environments. With the exception of an off-switch, there is no single tool -- or single policy -- that can provide total security."
The "big picture" approach Forsythe's security experts take -- and teach -- is based on their extensive experience, which goes well beyond their expertise in security tools and includes background in -- on the one hand, vulnerability assessment (i.e. hacking) -- and, on the other, criminology and police forensics work. These experts have provided strong security solutions for hundreds of businesses, organizations and government agencies including those that handle extremely sensitive information such as defense contractors, financial institutions and even the National Security Agency (NSA). Courses are offered at Forsythe's offices at 5440 W, Fargo Ave. in Skokie, IL. as well as at customer sites. A complete description of courses and the current schedule are available on the web at: http://www.forsythesolutions.com/education/index.html
