Led Army Engineers in Iraq Infrastructure Reconstruction, Received ENR
Award of Excellence for 2003
Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced that
Col. Martin commands the 130th Engineer Brigade of the Army's 5th Corps, which led the rebuilding of infrastructure in Iraq. For his extraordinary service, Engineering News-Record (ENR) last month awarded Col. Martin its Award of Excellence for 2003.
Col. Martin's discussion on Monday, May 24 will include the special engineering challenges his brigade and fellow combat engineers faced on the road to Baghdad and a description of the infrastructure they successfully constructed and reconstructed under adverse conditions. He is also expected to give his thoughts on the future of military engineering, the use and value of AEC and GIS technology for military organizations, and how the AEC community can best help in that future.
ENR's Award of Excellence has been presented to the "engineer of the year" for the past 38 years, and is regarded by many in the engineering professions as its premier recognition for a stellar career. The ENR story can be found at www.enr.com.
