Ullmann graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with an emphasis in Finance. He attended flight training and then flew on active duty for seven years, including missions during the Iran/Iraq War as well as a three year tour as a flight instructor. While stationed in Oklahoma, he earned a Master's degree in International Affairs from the University of Oklahoma. After leaving the service in 1992, Ullmann joined the office of Smith Barney in Jacksonville. Prior to establishing Ullmann Financial, he was hired by Robert W. Baird & Company to open and manage their Jacksonville office. He grew the office from two to thirty employees in five years and was responsible for over $300 million in client assets. He established Ullmann Financial in 2002.
