The demise of the current regime in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (hereinafter "DPRK" or "north Korea") has been long predicted by most scholars who have studied the DPRK. These predictions are largely based on the view that the socialist economic system is inherently inefficient and is not viable in the long run. This view is also based on the assumption that the DPRK regime has not and will not undertake systematic reform of its economic system. Hence, it is commonly predicted that the regime is sure to collapse. Accordingly, most of the scholars studying the DPRK ar
