Mar. 5--WASHINGTON -- Politics is a rough sport. But perhaps the harshest four-letter word President George W. Bush and his Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry will trade this election year is spelled J-O-B-S.
The battle over economic issues came into focus yesterday when the president met with a group of Bakersfield, Calif., workers. For months, Vice President Dick Cheney and Bush's cabinet secretaries have said creating jobs is "the president's top domestic priority." <
