Oct. 16--In speeches across the state, Gov. Mike Easley is laying the groundwork to cut the corporate income tax as a way to fire up the economy and attract new industry.
Easley, who like other state leaders is trying frantically to stop the flow of jobs out of North Carolina, told the N.C. League of Municipalities this week that lowering the corporate tax would help small businesses thrive.
