Political alliances dominate the Swedish political scene as political parties prepare for the Sept 1998 national elections. The Social Democrats under Goran Persson has entered into an alliance with the anti-nuclear party Center Party despite members' criticism of the party's departure from its mission towards an equal society. The Moderate Party banks on its leader Carl Bildt's international stature to deliver the votes. However, voters are expected to support the party which can deliver the most service.
