Actor, director, activist Warren Beatty and actress Annette Bening will join a four-city "Truth Squad" bus tour through Southern California Saturday joining leaders and members of the California Nurses Association, California Teachers Association and California Professional Firefighters.
The tour, which also features CNA President Deborah Burger, RN, CTA President Barbara Kerr, CPF President Lou Paulson, will follow a bus tour by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to correct the record in the governor's misleading campaign on behalf of his initiatives in the special election next Tuesday. Nurses, teachers and firefighters, have led the opposition to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's special election, especially Propositions 74, 75, 76, and 77.
Beatty has sharply criticized the governor's proposals and the special election. In a radio ad, sponsored by CNA that is now running, Beatty urges voters to "stand up for our nurses and our teachers and our police and our firefighters ... Get out and vote no on November 8th. Propositions 73 through 78 -- vote no. Remember, you haven't said no if you didn't show."
