What would a new transit sales tax mean for Columbus, Ohio? For starters Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) officials envision a 13-mile electrified light rail line through the city's north corridor.

COTA would also double the size of the bus fleet, increase bus service by more than 70 percent and expand paratransit service by 40 percent. Fourteen new transit centers would be built to improve neighborhood and suburb-to-suburb service. And 24-hour, seven-day-a-week bus service could be initiated on 14 major routes.
