With the young, charismatic presidential hopeful's sweep of Iowa, it may interest some of you travel bound out there to know that the Air Travelers Association has decided to publicly back Barack Obama just as all of the candidates are preparing to take on New Hampshire.
The President of the ATA said that Obama offers "the best hope for airline passengers," speeding up the introduction of the planned air traffic control system, enhancing safety and easing delays.
The Federal Aviation Administration first announced details of the proposed air traffic control system, NextGen, about a year ago.
The outcome of the primaries and of endorsements such as this remains to be seen, but it is interesting to see what the ATA thinks of the candidates and their ability to ameliorate and alleviate the mess that has been our air traffic system as of late.
