In response to the Pensions Summit in February, the Pensions Coalition, which is made up of Which?, Age Concern, Help the Aged and the TUC, commented: 'We have not been convinced by the alternative schemes put forward by the Pensions Summit. They do not meet the needs of the average and low paid workers

whom the current system fails. Ministers should stick with the proposals contained in the Pensions Commission Report as providing the best deal for employees. Of course there is work to do on the detail, but this should not move away from the Commission's work.'
