Birnbaum, who was recently named one of "Washington's 50 best and most influential journalists,"

In addition to Birnbaum's comments, attendees to this year's NPS will learn all about the federal legislative process and how to effectively advocate for CTE programs. Since No Child Left Behind will soon be reauthorized, participants will be meeting with Capitol Hill staff to promote ACTE's NCLB agenda. U.S. Department of Education officials have been invited to brief attendees on Perkins implementation, and ACTE sessions will focus on broad education policy topics, as well as specific legislation such as the Workforce Investment Act, Higher Education Act and federal funding.
