Business Definition for: two-dollar broker
two-dollar broker

floor broker who executes orders for other brokers too busy to do it themselves; a "broker's broker." Such brokers once were paid two dollars for a round lot trade, hence the name. Today they receive a negotiated commission rate varying with the dollar value of the transaction.
