Business Definition for: asking price
asking price

  1. price at which an investment is offered for sale; also called ask price, asked price, ask, or offering price .
  2. per-share price at which mutual fund shares are offered to the public, usually the Net Asset Value per share plus a sales charge, if any. See also bid and asked .

asking price

the list price that an owner would like to receive.

Example: Abel advertises a property for sale at a price of $100,000. The advertised price is Abel's asking price.
