Business Definition for: ancillary service endorsement

ancillary service endorsement

envelope imprint used by the mailer to request address change services from the U.S. Postal Service. The USPS requires several different endorsements indicating whether the mailer wants to be given a new address if a mail piece is undeliverable and how the undeliverable mail should be handled. Endorsements, and related services, vary by class of mail. The age of the address change notice will also affect handling. Mail pieces may be discarded, forwarded to a new address, or returned to the mailer. The USPS charges a fee based on the service provided. Endorsements include Address Service Requested and Change Service Requested.
