Domino's Pizza
Domino's knows the rules of the pizza delivery game. The company is the world's #2 pizza chain (behind YUM! Brands' Pizza Hut division), with thousands of delivery locations in more than 50 countries. Domino's menu features several different styles of pizza with a wide array of topping options, as well as additional items such as bread sticks, cheese bread, and chicken wings. Its stores are principally delivery locations and generally do not have any dine-in seating. Bain Capital owns nearly 30% of the company.
Consistently high ranks in brand awareness (#7), Web visibility (#16), and longevity (#14) are key reasons for Domino's Pizza's four-year appearance in the Franchise AllStar ranking.
A reformulated pizza recipe and an aggressive marketing campaign in 2010 created positive sales momentum that carried into the following year, with domestic franchise store revenues up as of the third quarter of 2011. To increase domestic revenue growth, Domino's encouraged carryout through special promotions; it also introduced a revamped chicken recipe and new Artisan Pizzas.
Domino's has a presence in more than 70 global markets and sees near-term growth coming from its international master franchisees. Domestically, the company is selling company-owned stores to franchisees.
The company is listed on the SBA's Franchise Registry and participates in the IFA's VetFran program. It also helps minorities achieve franchise ownership through the Domino's Pizza Delivering the Dream program.
