Batteries Plus

The world runs on batteries. And Batteries Plus offers one-stop shopping for all the batteries people need -- for camcorders, cordless phones, digital cameras, PDAs, cell phones, laptops and notebooks, calculators, iPods, and vehicles such as trucks, cars, wheelchairs, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, and watercraft, to name a few applications. The company's inventory is selected from the world market, based on superior quality, innovative product development, and other criteria. The first Batteries Plus store opened in 1988 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Franchise opportunities are available throughout the United States.
A record-setting number of store openings plus a growing demand for battery-powered mobile devices have kept Batteries Plus near the top of the Franchise AllStar list for the fourth year in a row. A high financial strength rank (#26) moved Batteries Plus into the top 20 for 2012.
With the addition of 10,000 types of light bulbs to the company's product line, franchisees are now selling light as well as power. Franchisees report high satisfaction with their franchisor, as the company ranked #22 in Franchise Business Review's 2011 Franchisee Satisfaction Awards. In 2011, Batteries Plus also kicked off a giving-back campaign called "Time to Care," which raised awareness and funds for USA Cares and Jobs for Vets.
Batteries Plus is listed on the SBA's Franchise Registry and participates in the IFA's VetFran program.
2011 AllStar Rank: 31
2010 AllStar Rank: 59
