Waterloo, Brinker sign franchise pact. (news & events).(Waterloo Restaurant Ventures Inc. to...

Waterloo Restaurant Ventures in Vancouver, BC, Canada, has signed a deal with Brinker International to become the first Canadian franchisee for Romano's Macaroni Grill, a 195-unit Italian casual-dining chain.

Waterloo, which will develop and operate restaurants in Washington and Oregon, is headed by Barry McGowan, a former Brinker employee. He said he expects to roll out the restaurants slowly, but declined to say how many the company is planning or where they will be located. For now, Waterloo is "patiently finding the right site
