Jun. 2--DEAR MS. OFFICE ETIQUETTE: I work in the food services industry -- specifically a popular coffee shop.

I was wondering why it is that customers don't seem to want to hand money to us after we tell them how much their order is. Instead, they lay the money down on the counter. If I don't see it, sometimes I'll tell them again how much they owe and they'll just point to the money on the counter.
