The Sweetwater Spa and Inn in Mendocino marks its 20th anniversary with a yearlong series of promotions and special events for couples celebrating anniversaries, wine lovers and families with children

Throughout the year, couples commemorating wedding anniversaries receive a 10 percent discount on stays of two nights or more. In addition, couples observing 20, 40 or 60 years together enjoy the corresponding percentage discount. For example, couples who've been married for 20 years receive 20 percent off of their stay.

For an additional $250, guests can book the Celebratory Anniversary package which includes dinner for two at either the Moose Cafe in Mendocino Village or the Edge of the Earth restaurant in Little River, plus two one-hour massages, a 30-minute private hot tub session and a basket filled with chocolates, bottle of sparkling wine and two commemorative crystal flutes.

Families who book rooms through the end of February will enjoy free stays for children and pets.

The Inn also will celebrate its 20th anniversary with special events for the summer solstice on June 21st - the longest day of the year - and the fall equinox on September 22 - the time when day and night are equal. Guests can reflect on the change of the seasons by gathering on the beach for a bonfire and can taste gourmet Mendocino wine served with delicious appetizers.

All packages require a two-night minimum stay. Anniversary packages must be used within a month of the couple's anniversary and the 40- and 60-percent discounts are not offered during holiday weekends.
