Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center Brings Winter Wonderland to North Texas This Holiday Season; ICE! and Lone Star Christmas Arriving Soon in North Texas.
GRAPEVINE, Texas -- Back by popular demand, the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center ushers in the 2006 holiday season with its annual awe-inspiring ICE! exhibit and festive Lone Star Christmas events!
Beginning November 16, 2006 - January 6, 2007, Gaylord Texan Resort's second annual ICE! exhibit will display larger-than-life, three-dimensional ice sculptures and holiday scenes hand-carved from two million pounds of ice. Complementing the ICE! exhibit is the resort's annual Lone Star Christmas event featuring more than 1.2 million sparkling lights, extravagant holiday decorations and displays, and holiday-themed retail shops -- all designed to share the holiday spirit with visitors of all ages.
"With the return of ICE! and Lone Star Christmas, we are extremely excited to be continuing and expanding a special holiday tradition at Gaylord Texan," said John Imaizumi, the resort's senior vice president and general manager. "From the spectacular ICE! exhibit to our many holiday activities, decorations, entertainment, retail and restaurant offerings, our goal is to provide families and friends with an unbelievable experience they can look forward to sharing together every year."
About ICE!
ICE! will welcome children and families into a whimsical winter wonderland of interactive environments and dozens of holiday scenes and sculptures, all hand-carved from two million pounds of ice by visiting artisans from Harbin, China. Oversized parkas will be provided to all guests to keep them warm and comfortable while they explore the magical, 14,000-square-foot ICE! display, which is maintained at a wintry 9 degrees. Outside of the exhibit, guests can enjoy gingerbread cookies; shop in the ICE! retail store; or dine in ICE! Cafe, a new addition to this year's event that will offer snacks, light meals and warm beverages for our ICE! guests.
The ICE! display will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Ticket prices, which include validated self parking, are $10 for children (ages 4 through 12), $17 for seniors (55+) and $20 for adults during the week and $10 for children, $20 for seniors (55+) and $23 for adults on the weekends. Group rates for 20 or more people are also available.
