My Favorite Valentine's Day Tradition

I wrote about it last year, and it captured my heart again this year -- Valentine's Day dinners at White Castle. That's right, the place that sells little bitty hamburgers is doing it again -- reservations-only dining by candlelight with table service tonight from 5 to 9 p.m.

As the advertisement on the White Castle Web site says: "The Steam. The Passion. The Hot Little Buns.

"Bring Your Significant Other, Moderately Important Friend or a Complete Stranger."

If I lived near a participating White Castle, that's where I would want to be tonight. This 80-year-old hamburger chain -- the first fast-food hamburger chain -- wins lots and lots of red hearts for this affordable and adorable tradition.
