Dec. 7--The temperature jumps by what feels like 50 degrees after walking into Charleston Beer Works on a chilly early morning on upper King Street.
Inside, the new bar is jammed. A mix of music, smoke, chatter and flirting swirls through the air. People are waiting outside to get in. Someone drops a glass on the floor, where it shatters in a pool of beer. Body heat is high. It is the Charleston bar scene at its late-night peak.
But the night, just afte
