Virginia Turkey Plant Seeks Survival Buyer.

May 5--A Shenandoah Valley turkey processing plant will close this fall if Pilgrim's Pride Corp. fails to find a buyer for the Hinton, Va., site, eliminating hundreds of jobs in the area.

The Pittsburg, Texas, poultry company announced last week that it is trying to sell the plant, located about 2[1/2] hours southwest of Washington. The decision could leave 1,300 plant workers unemployed and halt contracts for 169 farmers in Virginia and West Virginia.
