Dec. 23--A small, 100-year-old hand crank still curls and scrunches strips of peanut butter-flavored confection into the ribbon candy that is Boston Candy Kitchen's signature product.
Nearby, in a back room at the company's tiny Elm Street store, sits a 2-month-old industrial-sized stainless steel giant with a hopper, wheels and gears that is capable of doing the same thing -- or so the manufacturer says.
