Heileman Brewing's new management team plans to concentrate on niche beers, in line with sales statistics showing that the most significant growth in the depressed beer market is occurring in this area. Specifically, the company intends to create line extensions and new packaging, back brands with local and point-of-sale advertising, maintain its presence in contract microbrewing, and purchase another brewer in 1994.
