Manufacturing sector to face a host of problems in 2006.(FOCUS)

In the first three quarters of 2005 or before the government hiked the oil fuel prices, the manufacturing sector grew steadily by 6.76% although industrialists had complained about an increase in the prices of fuels and electricity tariff to follow the soaring prices of oil in the world market. The soaring prices of crude oil came when the government stopped fuel subsidy.

Strong growth of 12.8% was recorded in automotive, machinery, electronic and telecommunications industries. Chemical industry including fertilizer industry and rubber industry grew by 10.7% and agro-b
