CITIMORTGAGE LAUNCHES DESKTOP ORIGINATOR FEATURE
Thursday, April 1 2004
ST. LOUIS-BASED CITIMORTGAGE INC., THE residential lending business of Citigroup, has announced it is the first lender to launch Fannie Mae's Desktop Originator (DO) "Link to Lender" feature.
The DO Link to Lender feature allows brokers to submit loan data directly from DO to the CitiMortgage wholesale Web site (https://broker.citimortgage .com), giving the ability to transfer loan data directly to the site and eliminating the need to export, import or rekey data into the system. Brokers can also receive access to additional services and functions provided on the CitiMortgage Web site (e.g., checking rates, locking rates and registering loans). The feature is available to all CitiMortgage brokers who use DO.
"Offering this feature to all of our brokers is an exciting opportunity," said Steve Stein, CitiMortgage's managing director of wholesale lending. "Whether eliminating the need to manually import loan files from the broker's origination system or having findings before the broker decides to register the loan, the advantages are numerous and brokers will witness immediate benefit with these new features."
"The Link to Lender feature provides an enhanced version of DO that also gives the lender the opportunity to leverage DO's access to Desktop Underwriter [DU], and allows lenders to focus more on the other processes they want to offer on their Web site," said Terri Davis, managing director, Fannie Mae eSolutions sales and consulting.
