Whole Foods Market takes the No. 1 spot for retailers in the April ranking of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership, which works with organizations, companies and universities to help them reduce the environmental impact of electricity use and support the development of new renewable generation capacity.

The No. 2 spot went to Kohl's Department Stores. The others are as follows:

No. 3: Starbucks

No. 4: Staples

No. 5: Office Depot

No. 6: Safeway Inc.

No. 7: Lowe's

No. 8: FedEx Kinko's

No. 9: REI

No. 10: Coldwater Creek Inc.
