Owen Cowens Sponsors Green Building Education

Thursday, May 15 2008

Owens Corning, leaders in the building material industry for the past 70 years, have developed partnerships to further their environmental commitment.  They took an opportunity at the NAHB National Green Building conference to announce their sponsorship of  LBM Journal's "Certified Green Dealer(TM) program", (http://www.certifiedgreendealer.com/), and the Masco Home Services' "Environments For Living(R) Certified Green program" (http://www.eflbuilder.com/)

Both programs offer online seminar and resources, with The Certified Green Dealer program geared towards dealers and distributors, who can learn about new materials, and become certified in their use.  The Masco program provides seminars for builders, teaching them new techniques, and offering guarantees to consumers.

"As a sustainable company, Owens Corning not only focuses on the greening of our operations and products, but we are committed to helping our customers understand how together we all can accelerate energy efficiency in the built environment," said Gale Tedhams, director of sustainable communities and green products, Owens Corning.

Owens Corning has operations around the globe and generated $5 billion in revenues in 2007.
