A hole in the forest.

Sometime in the winter of 1997-1998, we began planning for an early and minimal retirement. Our goal was to sell our present home in suburban Atlanta and retire to the woods of northwest Georgia. Boy did things get complicated after that!

After looking about the northern mountainous part of Georgia, we quickly realized that prices in northeast Georgia, long an escape hatch for second homes and those fleeing Atlanta, were beyond our modest means.
