BRAZIL: Construction contract award for build-operate (BO) high-voltage power lines, ELECNOR S.A.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The government of Brazil recently awarded a power line construction contract to Spain-based ELECNOR S.A. According to the terms of the award, will be responsible for installing 5-230 Kv power lines with a combined length of 949 kms.

The lines, of undisclosed cost, link the northwestern Amazon region to the country's 83,000 km national grid, mostly in the south. Specifically, the line links the town of Samuel in the Amazon state of Rondonia to Jauru in Mato Grosso state, where the network starts.
