Chemical industry: a brief review. (Pakistan)

At the time of creation of Pakistan, there was no chemical industry established in the country. To cater the needs of agriculture, Fertilizer Industry was set up in the mid-fifties in public sector. However, no attention was paid to develop petro chemical industry in Pakistan. In early sixties, one plant of chloralkali was established for producing basic chemicals like caustic soda, chlorine, hydrochloric acid and bleaching powder.
