Following is an update on some major power projects involving foreign investors in Vietnam:

* Wartsila -- An agreement on this long-awaited 120-megawatt build-operate-transfer (BOT) plant, to be built by Finland's Wartsila NSD, a unit of Metra Oyj Ab, may finally be near after years of negotiations with the government Industry officials expect an announcement soon.

* Phu My 2.2 -- A 700-megawatt gas-fired station to be constructed under BOT terms and form part of the giant 3600-megawatt Phu My complex in southern BaRiaVung Tau province.
