The St Francis combined-cycle power plant in the US has received the Year 2000 Powerplant Award from the US journal Power. The owner, independent power producer Associated Electric Cooperative Incorporated, received the award for highly economical and environmentally friendly power generation aided by the plant's state-of-the-art equipment. St Francis was built by the Siemens Power Generation Group
