As previously reported, in response to growing health and environmental concerns, the U.S. EPA decided last December to regulate mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants. Now, Canada is considering similar measures. In order to get a jump on these potential mercury standards, Ontario Power just announced that it will join the first full-scale mercury emissions control program here in the U.S. This project is spearheaded by ADA-ES, an environmental technology and specialty chemical company, based in Colorado.
Last fall, the Department of Energy awarded ADA-ES $6.8
